Now here's a truly forgotten heirloom French vegetable. Like a cross between a broccoli rabe and a collard green, this unusual vegetable produces tall tender stalks with lots of lateral flower buds resembling those of rabe, while the thick leaves resemble collards. Delicious lightly steamed and dressed with olive oil and a splash of lemon, or sauteed. In mild winter areas, plant in fall. The plants will be ready to harvest in March.
