Sorrel is greatly appreciated in France, and largely misunderstood in the U.S. Although it is usually classed as an herb, it is more appropriately termed a "potherb" as it is most delicious when cooked. Sorrel is rich in vitamin C, A, and minerals. It has a tangy flavor. Indispensable for French sorrel soup and sorrel sauces for fish and veal. 'Large de Belleville' has long, thick, tender leaves. Sorrel is an easy-to-grow perennial that thrives even in heavy soil.
This French heirloom seed is produced organically by a small seed farm in central France. Its production process is monitored by France's rigorous Ecocert program. The seed ships with both an Ecocert certificate and a phytosanitary certificate.
