Average to dry soils--White asphodel

White asphodel (Asphodelus albus) is a spectacular and rare perennial plant for well-drained average to dry soils. It has fine-textured, grass-like foliage and wands of starry white flowers 2 1/2 to 3 feet tall in early to midsummer. White asphodel makes a fantastic vertical accent in the garden, as well as being an excellent cutflower. It is very drought-resistant. Cover the seed very lightly when sowing either indoors or out, as some light helps germination. Plant in full sun. Hardy in Zones 7-10.
