Native to woodland edges in France, the beautiful yellow foxglove (
Digitalis grandiflora) is one of the most useful perennials. Long-blooming, with multiple spikes of large, pale yellow tubular blossoms, yellow foxglove is a priceless addition to the partly shaded garden and makes a spectacular cutflower.
Plant the seed of this 2-foot perennial in light, well-drained humusy soil in part shade to full sun from spring through early fall. Hardy at least through Zone 5.
I've searched for a year to find the right source of French native wildflower seeds to offer you. Here they are! Certified organically grown, these seeds are produced on a family flower farm in the
Massif Central. One hundred percent of the process is artisanal, right down to the seed packets which are decorated with drawings of the content plants by the owner.
