Average to dry soils--Viper's bugloss

Viper's bugloss (Echium vulgare) has a name that makes it sound like an ingredient for a witch's brew. But in fact, it is a beautiful and easy annual in the borage family. Found throughout dry regions of France and throughout the Mediterranean basin, including Morocco, viper's bugloss thrives in dry poor soils, uncoiling it's spikes of brilliant sky blue flowers marked with deep violet. Very attractive to hummingbirds.

Sow viper's bugloss in well-drained soil in full sun from spring through mid-summer. Grows around 2 feet tall.

I've searched for a year to find the right source of French native wildflower seeds to offer you. Here they are! Certified organically grown, these seeds are produced on a family flower farm in the Massif Central. One hundred percent of the process is artisanal, right down to the seed packets which are decorated with drawings of the content plants by the owner.
