Bring the flowers of the French countryside into your own backyard! This seed mix contains French wildflowers which are naturally adapted to hot, sunny, dry spots. It consists of biennials and perennials, along with one annual (meadow calendula) which helps shelter the other seedlings as they develop the first year.
'Belles Estivales', or "summer beauties", contains bright yellow dyer's anthemis (
Anthemis tinctoria); lemon yellow evening primrose (
Oenothera lamarkii); blue-violet clustered bellflower (
Campanula glomerata); brilliant blue viper's bugloss (
Echium vulgare); pink downy woundwort (
Stachys germanica); and yellow-orange meadow calendula (
Calendula arvensis).
Sow 'Prairie Fleurie' in open, sunny, well-drained and worked up ground anytime from early spring through fall. These plants will bloom the second and following years from planting. The meadow calendula will bloom the first year from a spring to early summer planting. The biennials among them will self sow perpetually with a little help. Full instructions in English included. Suitable for all parts of the US.
I've searched for a year to find the right source of French native wildflower seeds to offer you. Here they are! Certified organically grown, these seeds are produced on a flower farm in the
Massif Central by a family group. One hundred percent of the process is artisanal, right down to the seed packets which are decorated with drawings of the content plants by the owner.
