Also known as ox-eye or memorial daisy (for its tendency to begin bloom around Memorial Day), this generous French wildflower (Leucanthemum vulgare) provides armloads of classic golden centered white daisies for the first half of summer. A perennial, it will self-sow in open ground. Meadow daisy grows around 18 to 24 inches tall and forms a clump about as wide. Meadow daisy is edible and historically has been used medicinally. It is very attractive to butterflies as well as pollinating and beneficial insects.
Plant in full sun in almost any soil, from spring through early fall.
