Field marigold (
Calendula arvensis) has a disposition as sunny as its golden yellow color. This tough annual covers itself with yellow daisies for weeks, even when sown in poor, dry, or clay soils. A hardy annual, it may be sown from early spring through early summer, and again in September for earliest bloom the following year. Native to fields and disturbed edges throughout France and the Mediterranean. Field marigold makes an easy cutflower and is attractive to butterflies. It's naturally compact, rarely reaching over a foot tall.
I've searched for a year to find the right source of French native wildflower seeds to offer you. Here they are! Certified organically grown, these seeds are produced on a family flower farm in the
Massif Central. One hundred percent of the process is artisanal, right down to the seed packets which are decorated with drawings of the content plants by the owner.
