Bring the flowers of the French countryside into your own backyard! This seed mix contains French wildflowers which are naturally found in natural meadows. They differ from the 'Fleurs des Champs' in that they do not require disturbed ground to persist in the wild. To wit, this mix contains all biennials and perennials, and as such, makes an excellent addition to the all-annual 'Fleurs des Champs.'
The mix contains bright white ox-eye daisy (
Leucanthemum vulgare); wild blue chicory (
Chicorium intybus); white meadow achillea (
Achillea millefolium); lilac meadow scabious (
Knautia arvensis); red lesser pimpernel (
Sanguisorba minor; lacy white Queen Anne's lace (
Daucus carota); and rich violet-blue meadow geranium (
Geranium pratensis).
Sow 'Prairie Fleurie' in open, sunny, worked up ground anytime from early spring through fall. These plants will bloom the second and following years from planting. The biennials among them will self sow perpetually with a little help. Full instructions in English included. Suitable for all parts of the US.
This mix may be combined with our following other seed mixes: 'Fleurs des Champs,' 'Belles Estivales,' 'Forgotten Flowers of the Middle Ages,' and 'Fleurs à Papillon.'
I've searched for a year to find the right source of French native wildflower seeds to offer you. Here they are! Certified organically grown, these seeds are produced on a flower farm in the
Massif Central by a family group. One hundred percent of the process is artisanal, right down to the seed packets which are decorated with drawings of the content plants by the owner.
