Bring the colors of a French wildflower meadow to your garden with easy-to-grow corn cockle (
Agrostemma githago). This hardy annual has branched stems to 28" high, bearing 1 1/2", bright lavender flowers that are attractive to hummingbirds. They also make graceful cutflowers. Corn cockle may be sown from spring through early summer and again in the late summer through fall for an extra early blooming next year. Not particular about soil, corn cockle does like a sunny location.
I've searched for a year to find the right source of French native wildflower seeds to offer you. Here they are! Certified organically grown, these seeds are produced on a family flower farm in the
Massif Central. One hundred percent of the process is artisanal, right down to the seed packets which are decorated with drawings of the content plants by the owner.
