Bring the vibrant color of French wildflowers to your garden with striking tree mallow (Malva sylvestris ssp. mauritanica). This member of the hollyhock family grows around 3 feet tall and is covered with spikes of large bright pink-purple blossoms from June through August. What's more, it's tolerant of partial shade, and so is perfect for a woodland edge or a garden that is only partly sunny.
Sow tree mallow's seeds in moderately rich, well drained soil from early spring through fall. Fall plantations will bloom the following year. This plant is a hardy annual.
I've searched for a year to find the right source of French native wildflower seeds to offer you. Here they are! Certified organically grown, these seeds are produced on a family flower farm in the Massif Central. One hundred percent of the process is artisanal, right down to the seed packets which are decorated with drawings of the content plants by the owner.
