Bring the romance of traditional French outdoor lighting to your own home! Hand made by an atelier just outside Paris specialized in reproducing French traditional lamps, this beautiful lantern is fabricated in zinc, the same material used for most Parisian roofs, as well as light fixtures, window trims, and other ornamentation. The heavy-gauge zinc has a soft, matte, natural patina that only improves with age, and the lantern is made to last lifetimes.
Why is this lantern called 'PLM'? That stands for "Paris-Lyons-Marseille," the train line in whose stations lamps of this design originated. The original model was discovered in an antique shop in Bourgogne. This 'PLM' (for short) wall lantern is slightly smaller than the large model, but equally solidly constructed in a manner that protects its interior from rain. Its glass panels are 3 millimeters thick, interchangeable, and can be easily replaced if accidentally broken. The lantern is completely outfitted for American AC current and lightbulbs, and comes with installation instructions in English. It has a bracket on the back for easy wall mounting.Note: This lantern is also available in copper, brass, and copper-vert-de-gris on special order. Inquire for conditions and pricing.
