French tableware

From the Paris atelier of the same trio of designers as our "Salades" and "Choux" raku ware, these placemats take the idea to a new level. Made of French slate (ardoise) from Brittany, hand-cut and then hand-serigraphed with a natural botanical pattern, these aren't just place mats, they're works of art. They are so breathtaking that you will almost not want to cover them with a plate. And you will certainly want to keep them within view when they're not in use, especially in a contemporary decor.

Approximately 1/4" thick, they protect your table from heat as well. However, like all slate, they are fragile. Do not drop them or put them in the dishwasher. They may be wiped clean with a damp sponge or cloth.

Incidentally, the "Salades" and "Choux" plates look stunning on these place mats.
