From the heart of the
Périgord Noir in the Southwest of France comes this exquisite miniature painting in Limoges enamel. The appellation 'Limoges' is your guarantee that this work was completely executed by hand in strict adherance to classic tradition, using enamel powder applied to copper and vitrified by successive firings at 800 degrees centigrade. Absolutely no mechanical means of reproduction was used, such as varnished prints, plasticized photos, or other imitations. (The artist wants you to be very clear on that!)
This lovely painting depicts a delicate bouquet of white, yellow, and pink flowers with a touch of blue on a gray background. The quality of the painting is extremely fine and delicate, yet unlike a painting on canvas, it may be easily wiped free of dust with a damp cloth. The surface is slightly convex.
The price below is for the painting on copper only. You may purchase separately a wooden easel to display it (click on the number 1 below the main photo to see the painting on it), or you may order a frame (click on the number 2 below the main photo to see a representative photo). The frames are handmade and finished in a beautiful patina of greens and antique gold. If you order the frame, your painting will arrive already mounted in it.
